Day 16 & 17
Blijf op de hoogte en volg Linde

Yesterday, Wednesday May 7th, I went with Karen to her work. In the morning we went to court again to see some CYS (children and youth) cases, which were all really interesting! After that we went to the detectives. We got a great tour there and I had the opportunity to see the equipment for fingerprints, etc. After that we had a tour at the 911 (emergency services) building. Which was also really interesting, because I was able to see them in action when people are calling when something bad happened. After that we had a tour at the coroners office. A coroner is someone who goes to an accident for example when someone died to see if it is a natural death or not. So now I have seen the whole process, from being arrested to going to court and jail to maybe even end up at the coroner! On our way home we ordered chinese, which we picked up to eat at home because it was my last dinner at the States. In the evening we went to a ceremony for the jail, which was really impressive because it was organised to remember all the officers who died in the last year.
Today was my last day at the County of Berks. First We had a meeting with one of the Commissioners and after that I attended the Commissioners Board Meeting, which was my third one though a little bit different than the other meetings. After that I said goodbye to everyone at the office and we went to the centenarian lunch. It is a lunch for everyone who is or turns 100 this year or for someone who is even older. This was also really impressive and there were more people 100(+) than I thought! Then it was time to go to the airport! So we drove to Philadelphia and because we were a bit early Karen gave me a tour through philly, which I really enjoyed!
Well, I'm writing this while being on the airport so it is almost time to go home! I really enjoyed my stay at the States, though I'm also happy to go home, home sweet home! Hopefully I will return sometimes to the States, because it was great!!

Goede reis Linde.Het was super om al je belevenissen te volgen.Je zult nog wel wat tijd nodig hebben om bij te komen van deze trip en al je indrukken!!! Welcome home!

Linde, wat heb je je blog mooi aangevuld met je laatste dagen in de States. Het was een een drukke maar enorme interessante tijd voor je en al die ervaringen neem je mee voor de rest van je leven.
Wat een prachtig initiatief om mensen van rond de 100 jaar een lunch aan te bieden voor de goede dingen die zij in hun leven gedaan hebben.
Ben toch ook blij om te horen dat je het weer fijn vind om naar huis te komen zodat we live van je belevenissen kunnen genieten. Terwijl ik dit schrijf vlieg jij ergens boven de oceaan op weg naar Amsterdam. Wij vertrekken zo naar Schiphol, tot straks meisje! -

Nu ik dit schrijf is het landingsgestel bijna uitgeklapt (als ik teletekst mag geloven). Je landt eerder als gepland. Dat je een fijne tijd ginds hebt gehad hebben we kunnen lezen. Nu nog goede reis naar huis.
